AUI was named 2012 Contractor of the Year by the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). AUI was selected along with 12 other organizations and individuals for their distinguished contributions to the city's cultural and architectural environment. The Contractor of the Year award is given to the general contractor that has advanced architecture through its achievement of the built environment.
AUI helped Downtown Fort Worth Initiative and the City of Fort Worth, a public-private partnership, dedicate the JFK Tribute in General Worth Square. This tribute is a beautiful landmark that will forever commemorate his historic visit to the city. The 8 foot bronze sculpture of JFK is place in a circular granite plaza featuring a water feature and larger-than-life photos depicting the president's visit to Fort Worth.

AUI was awarded the new $17 million, Construction Manager-at-Risk, Hurst Justice Center in Hurst, Texas. The new Justice Center consist of approximately 50,000 SF of multilevel offices, courtrooms, police headquarters and jail facilities; a 38,000 SF renovation of the existing city courtrooms and police building; and a new multilevel parking structure for over 300 cars. |
